Identical replica of a 1808-1810 cup and saucer.The original is housed in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France
This Egyptian style cup and saucer manufactured by the Manufacture de Sèvres was presented to the Tuileries Palace on march 31st 1810 for the wedding of Napoleon and Marie-Louise. The saucer is adorned with the portrait of Mameluk Roustan, bodyguard and valet who served Napoleon from 1799 to 1814. Napoleon so loved this cup that he brought it with him when exiled to Saint-Hélène.
