Art meets the exceptional craftsmanship of porcelain through Bernardaud and the Artists, a special event hosted by Christhellas–Christofle at its boutique in Kifisia, welcoming a select group of clients, media representatives, and figures from the worlds of art and culture.

An exclusive preview of the new Bernardaud × Maison Matisse collection

At the heart of the evening was an exclusive preview of the new Bernardaud collection in collaboration with Maison Matisse, ahead of its official launch. Selected artworks and objects were brought from Paris to Athens especially for the occasion, offering guests the opportunity to discover firsthand the creative dialogue between porcelain, art and design. The event was attended by Charles and Frédéric Bernardaud.

With a history dating back to 1863 and based in Limoges, France, Bernardaud is a leading name in the art of porcelain, combining traditional French craftsmanship with contemporary creativity. Through collaborations with renowned artists, the Maison continues to push the boundaries of the material, creating works of art and functional objects with a distinctive artistic identity.

The presentation featured Lobster and Jeff Koons’ iconic Balloon Animals, which bring familiar pop culture forms into the world of porcelain; Joan Miró’s Parler Seul, with its characteristic abstract forms and vivid colours; and Fernand Léger’s La Fleur qui marche, which reflects the artist’s distinctive interpretation of Cubism through geometric forms. A particular highlight was Joana Vasconcelos’ Thé Dansant — Théière XL, a sculptural interpretation of the traditional teapot, transforming it into an object of monumental scale. All the aforementioned creations are limited-edition collectible pieces.

The event provided a special opportunity to highlight Christhellas–Christofle’s engagement with art and design, showcasing how porcelain can go beyond functionality and become a medium of artistic expression. The creative concept and art direction for the event were developed by Apostolos Ioannou, shaping a presentation dedicated to art, design, and the French tradition of Limoges porcelain.
